JACKSON BROWNE TO PLAY TERRACE THEATER
By Dave Wielenga
Tickets go on sale Saturday at noon for a concert by renowned singer-songwriter Jackson Browne, who will perform a solo acoustic show on March 8 at the Terrace Theater.
Browne was raised in Orange County and his music epitomized the 1970s California sound, which soothed the wounds of the 1960s with laid-back melodies and lyrics that sought redemption for political losses through personal relationships.
That said, as Browne’s commercial popularity began to recede in the 1980s he became increasingly involved in political causes and frequently donated his performances to fundraisers.
With over 17 million albums sold in the United States alone, Browne was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
Browne’s most-recent album, Love Is Strange, is a two-disk live album that presents highlights from a tour of Spain that he and longtime collaborator David Lindley played in 2006.
Ticket prices for the Terrace Theater performance range from $41.00 to $90.50. To charge by phone, please call TicketMaster at (800) 745-3000 or to purchase tickets online visit www.ticketmaster.com.
The Terrace Theater box office is located at 300 E. Ocean Boulevard, and is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

His stripped down acoustic is the best. His popularity began to recede when he quit writing interesting songs after giving up drugs.
