lakewoodsheriffcar LAKEWOOD (Via the Herald American)— Capt. Merrill Ladenheim is the new commander of the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station, which patrols 24 square miles filled with 240,000 residents in the cities of Artesia, Bellflower, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood and Paramount.

The 26-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will oversee 250 sworn officers and 50 civilian staffers. Lakenheim replaces Capt. Christy Guyovich, who has been promoted to commander and relocated to the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau in Monterey Park.
