DA FILES MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES AGAINST ALLEGED LB CODE ENFORCEMENT SHOOTER

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed 15 felony counts against Anthony Glen Gorospe, 51, who allegedly shot a Long Beach city code enforcement inspector in the face, then engaged in day-long standoff with LBPD.
The charges are: one count of attempted willful, deliberate and premeditated murder; three counts of attempted murder of a peace officer; five counts of assault on a peace officer with a semiautomatic firearm; five counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm; and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The criminal complaint also alleges tha Gorospe personally discharged a firearm, a rifle. Gorospe, who the DA says was convicted of a drug offense in 1989, faces multiple life sentences if convicted.
