COMPTON SUPERINTENDENT CHARGED PERSONAL ITEMS TO DISTRICT CREDIT CARD
By The Compton Bulletin
Credit card records obtained by The Compton Bulletin reveal that the superintendent of the Compton Unified School District appears to have been using taxpayer money for personal purchases.
Records provided by the school district indicate that only some of the purchases made by Superintendent Dr. Kaye Burnside on a district-issued credit card have been repaid.
A district employee from accounting said she questioned Superintendent Dr. Kaye Burnside’s credit card use roughly a year ago. She said she was pulled aside by a top administrator, who explained to her that Burnside was using the card for personal use because she had been the victim of identify theft, which prevented her from obtaining a personal credit card.
The Compton Unified school board’s credit card policy expressly forbids personal use of credit cards, stating, “under no circumstances may personal expenses be charged.” READ THE ENTIRE STORY AT THECOMPTONBULLETIN.COM

wow…$4,332 in floral arrangements…that’s $83 a week for a year. I just to point out that one can purchase LOVELY flowers at the farmer’s market for about $7 a week. This would’ve resulted in a $3,928 savings to the district. Just sayin’
Are you kidding me? This lady uses a district credit card and doesn’t know that’s illegal? Additionally, $1000 for a roundtrip to San Diego? A flight she doesn’t even attend and tells the paper she couldn’t attend because of issues at the high school? Heck, school wasn’t even in. She charges personal items and pays back less than 50% and can’t account for the balance. Gimmee a brteak, EVERYONE knows you can’t use district credit cards, let alone PUBLIC FUNDS, for personal use…another fine and stellar Compton hire…
Well keep looking that entire business division is corrupt…a federal probe is desperately needed.
