MEDICAL, EMOTIONAL UPDATES ON CRASH SURVIVOR MIKE JENSEN ON WEBSITE
By Greater Long Beach
Updates on the condition of Mike Jensen, who survived Wednesday morning’s private plane crash at the Long Beach Airport but remains hospitalized with critical injuries, are being periodically provided on a website designed for such purposes.
Jensen was among five high-profile Greater Long Beach businessmen—all in some way associated with land acquisition, development and management—who set out on a ski vacation to Park City, Utah, aboard a plane owned by one of them, Tom Dean.
But trouble intervened almost immediately after they left the ground. Investigators are still trying to find out why the plane suddenly turned sharply left toward the west, then dived into the airfield, where it burst into flames.
Rescuers pulled Jensen from the wreckage, but the impact and fire killed the other businessmen—Mark Bixby, 44; Tom Dean, 50; Jeff Berger, 49; and Bruce Krall, 51—as well as the plane’s pilot, Ken Cruz, 43.

To Mike’s family,
First of all, I am so sorry for what has happened. I knew Mike when he was in his twenties and haven’t seen or spoken to him since. He was a good man; that I knew.
