IF YOU’RE NOT OCCUPIED, LONG BEACH IS AVAILABLE THREE TIMES THIS WEEKEND

According to a press release, Occupy Long Beach will stage three marches this weekend—two Saturday, one Sunday—to emphasize the lopsided distribution of wealth among the people of the United States and to confirm the continuing commitment of its members in Long Beach.
The first march is scheduled for Lincoln Park—part of downtown’s civic center complex—on Saturday at 10 a.m. Protesters intend to march through the financial district to spread the word about the Occupy movement’s appeal for a “Bank Transfer Day” on Nov. 5. On that day, people are asked to remove their money from banks and deposit it in credit unions—a reaction, among other things, to most banks’ recent decision to increase service charges.
The second march is scheduled for Pine Ave. on Saturday at 11 p.m. Occupiers intend to visit bars along Long Beach’s main downtown street to spread their message.
The third march is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. on 2nd St. in Belmont Shore, again visiting bars and restaurants—specifically those with outdoor seating—to raise awareness.

Since Occupy Long Beach apparently has no city-issued permit, the taxpayers already seem to be footing the bill for portable flood lights and such in and around Lincoln Park. Even so, let’s hope Occupy Long Beach remains relatively responsible in its advocacy and doesn’t end up the entitled laughing stock that Occupy Oakland seems to have become:

All they have to do is embrace Glass-Steagall. By not doing it shows it’s not serious.
I had already planned on dumping my big national bank for a credit union for the same reason.

preparing or searching for work for those jobs which are available.There
is no question:
l. Record numbers are out of work because record numbers of job have
vanished.
2.There have been a handful of crooks on Wall Street–doing essentially
what a Long Beach woman did with campaign funds of dozens of
Democratic canidates(who might,in a perverse way.actually did a great
service to the people of the State,if it prevents many of them from
returning to public office where they do such great damage.
Yet,at the end of the day,once the unfettered free market is allowed to
to operate,the circa 9-12 year recovery can begin.Nothing of any
consequence will begin to happen unless and until Obama et al is sent
to Coventry.It will then take circa 4-7 years to reverse the damage done.
Once the downward spiral is halted; and reversed–it will take circa 5 years
to get growth back to wjere it needs to be. 2021-2–is the realistic date
when we will be chugging along at need speed.

I have demanded nothing of you, howardx. I have only asked, several times, that you try to grow up and conduct yourself as a courteous and respectful adult. You seem unwilling to to do this. That is, of course, entirely your prerogative.
I have also asked you to provide proof of what seems yet another on a long list of accusations that you fail to support with any facts. You also seem unwilling to support this latest allegation with any evidence. This, too, is entirely your prerogative.
At some point, however, you might consider that no one is likely to believe much of anything you have to say if you persist in refusing to support your many accusations with anything even closely resembling a fact.
I know Dave to be an honorable man and even when we have our differences (and we have had several) he has always managed to remain mature, respectful, and courteous about it. You might try taking some notes, howardx, on how a mature person like Dave deals with disagreement.
Or, as I suspect is more likely to happen, you can continue behaving like a rude and petulant child.

how do you square your desire for less “intrusiveness” from govt with your well documented employment with the department of homeland security, where your job (well documented) was to be intrusive? can we assume that your fantasy smaller govt would not have a dhs? what about local police monitoring social network sites? is that govt intrusion?
PORTLAND — Portland police are looking for the person who threw a chemical bomb at the Occupy Maine encampment in Portland during the early morning hours today.
Sgt. Glen McGary said police responded around 4 a.m. today to an explosion in Lincoln Park at Congress and Pearl streets.
Though no one was injured, McGary said the homemade bomb, which consisted of chemicals poured into a plastic Gatorade container could have caused serious injury.

Sick, twisted, an perverse. Occupy Los Angeles has entered into competition with Skid Row residents for the scarce food resources of the Mission. A visit to Occupy Long Beach reveals that the occupiers are taking food and blanket donations meant for the homeless, and keeping those food donations for themselves.
