SAN FRANCISCO’S LSD AND THE SEARCH FOR GOD—NO DRUGS NECESSARY
By Alex Roman III
The first dose immediately attacked the senses. There was a cacophony of drones and symbols crashing, of sounds mashing-gnashing together to create a true hallucinatory experience. The lights, liquid, dripped across the face, walls, people, while seizure-inducing strobes flashed like the electricity flowing through the brain. It was just like the first time all over again, but this time it was San Francisco’s LSD and The Search for God—no drugs necessary.
The band’s sound beautifully mixes all of the catchy buzz words so easily tagged onto nearly everything these days—shoegaze, psychedelic—but in actuality it perfectly combines the pop sensibilities of jangly guitar-driven ‘90s alt-rock and the blessed aural assault that fills the Creation Records catalogue.
The first time LSD and the Search For God came to Long Beach was somewhat of a wake-up call for the discerning who have heard it all before—and that, done right, there are still bands out there putting out something that has been influenced but still sounds original. The time to see God induced through sheer auditory bliss has never seemed better.

Just reading that made me have flashbacks … I see trails man.
Great words.
I grew up in the 60′s, I was (and am) a musician. But, I never took LSD, nor pot.
Rather high-strung (still) I found booze the best way for me to calm down.
I used to lie in bed unable to sleep, thinking about life/death, eternity, etc.
It was rather annoying!
As I get older, I find it much easier to fall asleep.
A small consolation on my way to falling apart.l
