A bill by Long Beach state Senator Alan Lowenthal’s that would continue to free shippers from paying California’s sales/use tax on a portion of the fuel they buy for another 12 years—at an annual cost of between $92 million and $137.5 to the state—is on today’s agenda in Sacramento.

Good. I hope it passes. Better still, I think it should be made permanent, as the State’s non-partisan Legislative Analyst’s Office has recommended twice before.
